In 2022, I took my nail-painting hobby out of the bedroom and obtained a Diploma in Professional Nail Technology. After quitting my full-time job, I launched Neko Nail Co. (still from my bedroom, though), a private nail studio that specialises in cool nails for even cooler cats.
Brand Identity
The name Neko Nail Co. is a play on words (neko means cat in Japanese) and is inspired by my love for cats. Just like those mischievous creatures, Neko Nail Co. is cheeky, campy, and deliberately odd. The brand and visual identity reflect this through bold colours, simple but graphic visuals, and organic design elements.
Logo and Typography
For the brand’s logo, I went with bubbly hand-drawn lettering to reflect the brand’s playful yet design-forward identity. I sketched out the initial logo design on paper and digitised it in Adobe Illustrator. The logo design eventually evolved into a custom Neko typeface.
Marketing Assets
I have brought the brand and visual identity to life through marketing assets like social media posts, stickers, and other event collateral.

My bakkwa-inspired nails gained significant traction online, accumulating over 270,000+ impressions and 20,000+ shares. The post was picked up by Says.com and MustShareNews, reaching audiences across Singapore and Malaysia.
